This Privacy Notice applies to AltusCars websites, mobile or web app experiences, account pages, marketplace pages, dealer tools, agent tools, admin tools, messages, storage uploads, forms, support channels, and related services.
AltusCars determines the purposes and means of processing personal data for the platform. Dealers, agents, financing partners, and other third parties may also act as separate controllers for information they independently collect or decide how to use.

Sensitive personal information
Some applications may involve sensitive personal information such as government IDs, income or employment details, or financial documents. We process these only as needed to support financing, verification, and related services, and with appropriate safeguards.
How we use personal data
We use personal data to operate the marketplace, publish and manage listings, process inquiries and applications, coordinate schedules and availability, power messaging and notifications, run verification and KYC, prevent fraud, provide support, and improve the platform.
Legal bases and privacy principles
We process personal data in line with the Data Privacy Act's principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality — relying on consent, contract, legal obligation, or legitimate interests as applicable.
Who may receive personal data
Depending on the activity, data may be shared with dealers, agents, financing partners, insurers, logistics providers, service providers, and authorities where required by law. We share only what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Public and shared content
Listing details, public vehicle media, profile display details, listing status, and social commerce videos may be visible to other users or visitors. Do not include information you do not want shown.
Storage and security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure, so we also rely on users to protect their credentials and devices.
Retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, and audit requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Cookies, local storage, and analytics
We use cookies, local storage, and analytics to keep you signed in, remember preferences and filters, and understand how the platform is used. See the Cookie Policy for details.
Personalization and automated features
We may use automated tools to recommend units, match buyers, rank listings, and surface relevant content. These features support — but do not replace — human decisions on transactions.
Your data privacy rights
Under the Data Privacy Act, you may have rights to access, correct, object, erase or block, port, and seek damages or file a complaint regarding your personal data.
How to make a privacy request
To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.
Minors
AltusCars is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without appropriate consent.
Updates to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice as our practices change. Significant changes will be posted on the platform.
